This performance exceeded the association’s expectation of reaching 1,560,000 units produced, being the best annual result achieved since 2013.

“All manufacturers maintained their production pace, despite the difficulties that arose throughout the year. This proves the sector’s effort in seeking solid and sustainable growth”, explains Marcos Bento, president of Abraciclo.

In December, 117,929 motorcycles were produced, an increase of 38.5% compared to the same month in 2022. Concerning November, there was a drop of 10.7%.

In absolute numbers, low-displacement models led the registration ranking, with 1,297,780 units and 82% of the market.

2024 projections

For 2024, Abraciclo estimates the production of 1,690,000 motorcycles, which corresponds to a growth of 7.4% compared to that recorded in 2023.

“The projection is based on Brazil’s macroeconomic scenarios, considering factors such as expectations for growth in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), inflation, changes in interest rates, consumer confidence, etc. Our goal is to continue growing in a sustainable way and return to the production level of two million units in the coming years”, says Bento.

In retail, the prospect is that 1,700,000 motorcycles will be registered, a volume 7.5% higher than in 2023. Exports are expected to reach 35,000 units, an increase of 6.3% over the volume registered last year.
