Sustainable Lubricating Oils
Sustainable lubricating oils – Users of hydraulic centrifugal pumps for environmental reasons (better biodegradability and less toxicity in case of leakage), seeking to improve the reliability and availability of these assets through better lubrication of rolling or sliding bearings and longer intervals started to use hydrotreated mineral base oils (Group II) with zinc-free anti-wear additives.

Lubricating oils formulated with zinc-free Group II basics can be used in the lubrication of rolling and sliding bearings of hydraulic centrifugal pumps in the following situations:
Figuras 3/4 – Óleo lubrificante de base hidrotratada melhora a confiabilidade.
- Severe service conditions.
- High ambient temperatures (better resistance to thermo-oxidation).
- Continuous operating regime.
- Highly critical equipment such as those used in thermal or nuclear power plants.
- Where there is a risk of contamination of soil, lakes, rivers and seas (need for lubricant oils with good biodegradability, low toxicity).
- Operation in wet environments (better demulsibility).
- Longer service intervals.

Bearing lubrication
For lubrication of rolling and plain bearings in hydraulic centrifugal pumps the following generic recommendations can be used for defining the Degree of Viscosity (the service manual will provide more precise definition of the Degree of Viscosity of the lubricating oil):
