Petrol, new level of quality

Petrol, new level of quality – Petrol, a Brazilian lubricant manufacturer, announces that it is now part of the European Lubricant Quality Management System (EELQMS), which is an essential step towards Volkswagen approval. ATIEL is an organization representing manufacturers and distributors in the European lubricant industry and seeks to strengthen the sector’s reputation.

ATIEL administers the EELQMS (European Engine Oil Quality Management System) on behalf of its partners and publishes the Code of Practice (CoP) to assist in the continuous improvement of engine oil development and the consistency and validity of performance claims made for them.

It is also responsible for administering LoC (Locus of Conformity) registrations. To achieve greater compliance in the industry, it encourages and facilitates the exchange of information and technical data that supports the training of distributors and has established a mechanism for the continuous monitoring of the quality of automotive lubricants that claim to meet ACEA Oil Sequences through regular product inspections.

According to Carlos Ristum, president of Petrol, “few companies meet the technical, laboratory, and regulatory requirements of the European system, and with this certification, Petrol raises its standard to the international level. It guarantees proven performance, reinforces credibility in Brazil and South America, and demonstrates a commitment to quality, compliance, and sustainability.”
