Lubricants Interlaboratory Program

Lubricants Interlaboratory Program – We would like to announce the 13th edition of the Interlaboratory Comparison Program for Lubricants (PIL), organized by the Center for Technological Research and Analysis (CPT) of the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). This program will begin in SEPTEMBER, and its activities are listed in the schedule below. In this edition, the item to be analyzed will be a sample of hydraulic lubricant oil.

If this laboratory is interested in taking part, please fill in the Registration Form via the link below, in which the tests to be carried out by the laboratory must be indicated. The registration form must be completed between September 16 and 25, 2024.

Confirmation of participation will take place after the program’s Technical Committee has assessed the application form and sent the laboratory the Instructions Protocol.

Please note that it may be necessary to restrict the number of participating laboratories depending on the maximum capacity of the homogenization tank used. When this is necessary, the following internal criteria will be used to limit participation: 1) laboratories performing the greatest number of parameters; 2) order of expression of interest. Laboratories excluded according to these pre-established criteria will be duly notified.

We would like to inform you that the ANP will bear the costs of preparing the sample, drawing up the report and organizing the meeting to discuss the results. The participating laboratories will be responsible for the costs of taking the samples, carrying out the tests and sending the results, as well as the costs of attending the meeting to discuss the results. The laboratories must collect the PIL sample(s) from the CPT laboratory in Brasilia.

After consulting some companies and our legal department, we were told that the attached declaration would be sufficient for the transportation of the sample, due to the legal nature of the ANP. Therefore, in this edition we will ONLY work with the tax declaration for transporting the sample instead of the invoice. We ask you to check as soon as possible with the responsible sectors of your companies, as well as with the contracted carrier, whether there are any obstacles to the procedure adopted. This will give us enough time to resolve any doubts before the deadline for collecting the samples runs out.

The attached template will be delivered with the PIL sample and the oil’s MSDS.
