Corporate governance While the global lubricants market faces a period of stagnation, with virtually no growth in major developed markets, Brazil emerges as a notable exception. With growth projections already in place, both in volume—expected to reach annual sales of nearly 2 billion liters within 10 years—and especially in value (newer vehicles and machinery require more sophisticated products), the Brazilian market continues to attract the interest and investment of large corporations, intensifying competition and putting pressure on independent lubricant companies. |

Inhibition of biological sludge formation in diesel and biodiesel blends In recent decades, climate change has generated concern about fossil fuels, particularly diesel. Therefore, the development of renewable alternatives is encouraged. Among the most widely used matrices, methyl-based biodiesel has been the most widely used due to its cost-productivity trade-off. Biodiesel consists of monoalkyl esters of long-chain fatty acids, formed in a reaction between alcohols and vegetable oils or animal fats. The biodiesel production process produces byproducts that must be purified, but are not completely eliminated by current processes. |

The heart of engines: Coolant is key to performance and longevity. How does it work? Engines, whether combustion or electric, generate considerable heat. Weather extremes, whether excessive heat or snow, also impact their operation. Efficient temperature management is crucial, and coolant, also known as radiator fluid, is a key ally in automotive maintenance, preventing overheating, severe damage, and premature failure. Coolant is a highly complex chemical engineering element, combining thermal, chemical, and material compatibility properties. Choosing the right technology, complying with regulations, and performing preventive maintenance are crucial to the system's reliability and durability. |
