Vehicle production in Argentina
Vehicle production in Argentina – The pace of production at automakers based in Argentina increased in November, with 53,701 units produced, up 2.4% compared to October (52,419). However, it was still 5.1% below the figure recorded a year ago when 56,569 vehicles rolled off the production lines.
The accumulated result also shows a much lower performance than that recorded last year. Up until November, 468,553 units were produced, compared to the 573,742 manufactured in the first eleven months of 2023.
For Martin Zuppi, president of Adefa, an association that brings together the country’s manufacturers, the sector is undergoing a recovery process based on joint work between the automotive chain and the government. The director points out that several measures have made the local automotive industry more competitive.
“November has established itself as the best month of the year in terms of production, also recording positive performance in exports and sales, allowing us to record increasingly smaller differences in year-on-year comparisons. The year should end better than the projections made at the beginning of 2024.”
Export performance in November fell 10.3% compared to October, with 32,262 units shipped. Compared to the same month last year, however, when the industry exported 30,397 vehicles, the result was positive by 6.1%. In the year, shipments of 288,068 units were still 5.3% below the figure recorded a year earlier (304,084).
Finally, sales to the dealer network totaled 40,118 vehicles in November, 8% lower than in October (43,627), but 35% higher compared to the same month last year, with 29,715 units. In the first eleven months, the industry delivered 361,944 cars and light commercial vehicles to the distributors, a volume 5.2% lower.
