Volvo VDS-5 – Chevron Oronite received additional approval from Volvo for its OLOA 61530 high-tier heavy-duty universal additive. With the addition of this VDS-5 approval, Chevron Oronite is now offering a versatile product that includes key European high-tier OEM approvals.

Volvo VDS-5 helps fuel economy
Volvo developed this specification to help improve the fuel economy of its engines and deliver longer drain intervals. Oils meeting the VDS-5 specification are formulated with a powerful additive package to help prevent oil degradation caused by oxidation.
OLOA 61530 has undergone rigorous bench and engine tests, including the Volvo T-13 engine test, which focuses on oxidation performance with the strictest limits in the industry. A Volvo VDS-5 approval also requires more than two years of extensive field testing and more than ten trucks to evaluate engine oil performance in extreme and real-life driving conditions.
