Given this scenario, according to research carried out by the Scaringella Traffic Institute, the lack of vehicle maintenance is responsible for 30% of urban and road accidents in the country. Bald tires, worn-out brake components, burnt-out taillights and deregulated engines are some of these problems. From this, all care must be taken into account before hitting the road, and a general overhaul, in a reliable mechanic or workshop, will bring more safety and peace of mind to the trip.

During the overhauls, there are important points that must be checked, such as the change of oil and filter, water, in addition to checking for leaks, the quality of the brake and steering components, tires and spare tire, alignment and balancing.
In the case of lubricating oil, the use of quality products certified by regulator entities is crucial at the time of the overhaul, given that they provide better cold start behavior and lower fuel and oil consumption, while at the same time they offer excellent aging stability and operational reliability, fully protecting the vehicle’s engine.
The oil change must be checked and carried out if it is about to be done or if there is very little left for it. An expired lubricant can cause the engine to heat up, generate noise when the vehicle is started, vibrations at idle speed or lack of power during acceleration.
In addition, it is always recommended that revisions be carried out by qualified professionals with the knowledge to do so, since the vehicle can hide problems or wear that are not seen superficially, which can cause inconvenience during the trip.
Although a vehicle with maintenance problems may also have unexpected stops on short journeys, on longer journeys there are usually stretches without support or without stopping points, which can make the family spend hours on the road waiting for help. Economically, these unforeseen events, or even more extreme cases, such as accidents or loss of components, can cost more than carrying out the preventive review.
More than car care, extra attention is also needed when driving. During the trip, the driver must pay attention to the panel and the handling of the vehicle. If you any light turning on, or hear noises other than the usual ones, the ideal is to stop immediately at a support point to check the conditions of the car.
