Brazilian Lubricants Market reacts – After a low energy start to the year, the Brazilian Lubricants Market showed a reaction in the month of February, with an increase of 5.9% in relation to the month of January, however, still below the same period of 2021 by 2.1%, when the market hit record sales for the month of February.

The total volume sold in the first two months of the year is 203,205 m3. The dispute for leadership remains fierce between Vibra Energia and Iconic Lubrificantes.

Vibra Energia (Ex. BR Distribuidora) took the lead in January, and remains in the lead in the sum of the first two months of 2022, with a total percentage of 17.4%. Iconic Lubrificantes rehearsed a good recovery, leading the month of February, after a start below its annual average, ranking second in the total for the two-month period with a 16.1% share.

Following the leaders, Moove appears with 14.8%, Shell with 10.8% and Petronas with 8.4%.

The segment that contributed the most to this growth in February was transmissions and hydraulic systems, with an increase of 9.3% and the second highest volume in all lubricant segments, second only to Otto cycle oils.

The automotive segment also contributed significantly, as it works with high volumes, with oils for Otto cycle engines, up 5.7%  and those of the Diesel cycle up 5.0%, both in relation to January this year.
