Below is part of the official statement received from Royal Enfield Brasil about the two launches:

Despite links to the brand’s history and legacy, the Twins 650cc are completely new motorcycles, made from scratch. The Continental GT 650cc is a sports Café Racer, and the Interceptor 650cc, an elegant Roadster.

They were designed and produced jointly by the Product Development teams of Royal Enfield in India and the new UK Technology Center (United Kingdom Technology Center – UKTC).

Both combine classic look with carefully applied engineering, and the result is two machines with the same engine, which can inspire confidence in new riders and also satisfy the expectations of more experienced motorcyclists.

The 650cc Twins were built with the pilot in mind for today’s world. They are air-cooled to simplify maintenance, produce the typical roar of a bicylindrical engine and ensure that the strokes are faithful to the period design.

They have ample torque available since the engine starts, allowing them to perform light work in city traffic and have sufficient strength at cruising speed on open roads.

Although similar in essence, they offer very different riding experiences.

In addition to both having six gears, they have 47 horsepower and have the secret of their steering in delivering the torque – 80% of the maximum torque of 52 Nm since 2500 rpm -, allowing smooth and constant progress, without the need for many gear changes.

Combined with this, they have extremely agile chassis, developed at the Technological Center in England (UKTC) in conjunction with Harris Performance, the legendary manufacturer of sports motorcycle frames.

The Continental GT 650cc will especially appeal to riders who like more sporty models.

The 650cc Interceptor, in turn, refers to the historic model of the same name. It has a drop-shaped fuel tank with traditional knee recesses, a very comfortable double padded seat and wide supported handlebars, reminiscent of the street Scrambler style, which appeared in the 1960s in California.

Its comfortable and imposing riding position makes the model fun and practical on all types of paths, whether with curves on coastal roads or within large cities.

The 650cc Twins are motorcycles designed with careful attention to detail. Its engines rely on the latest technology, but the brand took care of rep
